On Meditation


1. It is not a relaxation technique, it is a mental exercise. All that heavy lifting and intense bending, its that difficult only you use your mind for this. And if you want progress, you have to work hard for it, just as much as you do for your body.
2. It’s difficult, but it gets better.
3. Vipassana is just the beginning, like it’s the tuition fee, and all else that follows in your life is education.
4. There really is enlightenment and even if I can perhaps bring it justice with words, my experience would be different with yours.
5. It’s tough, but yea I’d still do it.
6. READ ALL THE BOOKS YOU CAN

The mind spends most of the time lost in fantasies and illusions, reliving pleasant and unpleasant experiences and anticipating the future with eagerness or fear. While lost in such cravings or aversion we are unaware of what is happening now, what we are doing now. Yet surely this moment, now, is the most important for us. We cannot live in the past; it is gone. Nor can we live in the future; its is forever beyond our grasp. We can only live in the present.
